US Navy Super Hornet DEMO

In addition to welcoming the Air Force’s premier demonstration team to the Offutt Defenders of Freedom Open House, the Air Force will be hosting the US Navy’s F-18 Super Hornet DEMO team. The demonstration will involve an aerobatic performance involving the FA-18E Super Hornet, successor to the Hornet. Also known as the ‘Rhino’, the aircraft was the 21st Century’s first multi-role fighter. It carries more fuel and a larger assortment of weapons than its’ predecessor, making the Rhino an ideal aircraft for today’s conflicts.

The Rhino comes in two varieties, the ‘E’ version with 1 crew member and the ‘F’ version with a crew of 2. The Rhino is a dual-engine aircraft with a top speed of 1.8 Mach. With its’ 11 weapons stations, the Rhino is capable of performing a wide variety of missions, including close air support, suppression of enemy air defenses and anti-ship mining to name a few.

The Super Hornet demo is designed to highlight the mobility, versatility, and power of the FA-18. Air Show attendees will witness the high ‘G’ minimum radius turn and the slow speed ‘high-alpha’ pass, in addition to dozens of other aerobatic maneuvers designed to put the Rhino through its’ paces.

Please join us July 30th and 31st to witness the US Navy Super Hornet DEMO.
